Tibet farmstead windows

Yunan, Tibet

I was constantly struck by the ceaseless variety of windows in the farmhouses of Tibet. Every valley seemed to breed its own style, and within that style, each house (or each painter) would exhibit marvellous innovation. These windows were chiefly found in the Tibetian counties of Yunan province of China.

Your photos in this book are beautiful but these pictures of windows in Tibet particularly caught my eye. I live and work with ecological building here in Ireland and am currently writing a book about building with Hemp. The pictures of the style of windows set in the cast earth walls (2&3down on column 1,top col 2,bottom col 3 and the middle 2 in col 4) are especially interesting to me as they are design possibility in hemp building with this in mind would it be possible to reproduce one of them in my book?
Thanks again for all the pictures hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes Steve.
