Corner chorten
Yunan, Tibet
I am not sure what happens here. There is a small hole below this chorten which sits on the north-east corner of the flat rooftop of a Tibetian farmstead. It may be a small alter furnace for burning things.

In Mahayana Bhuddism fragrant tree branches are often burned in these stupa/chorten/furnaces. The tree branches are merely an extra-large insense burner, whose smoke is offered to the local dieties. You can see the residue of burnt sap at the top and at the bottom.
