Tanah Lot Temple

Bali, Indonesia

This temple sits on a very small island off the south-west coast of Bali. It's less than 100 meters from the coast. It's so crammed with temples and pagodas and banners that it appears to be a boat full of happy revellers. I'm not sure how people get to it, but I'm sure it's not particularly easy -- which is part of the point.

I have been to Tanah Lot. The way you get out to it, is at low tide. At low tide you can walk right out to it.

I was in Tanah Lot in 1974 with my girlfriend. We were blessed by some priest with flowers and holy water. We felt that we were married by the priest.
