I know from living 3 years in Taiwan, that there is a wild blend of modern and traditional. On any given day there can be a "temple festival", and these giant puppet/gods go parading through the streets accomplied by firecrackers and other kinds of commotion. Sometimes I can't get a bearing on what century I am in when these events happen. As motor scooters snake through the procession, and men carrying banners as they talk on cellphones parade. All I can do is breath in how utter vibrant life is in Taiwan.
