Houseboat

Dal Lake, Kashmir

From the Victorian age onward, Kashmir's houseboats have attracted visitors from India for its cool summer climes. Ornate houseboats are the ideal retreat from the bustle and heat of the lowlands. Decorated with wood carvings and Raj gingerbreading, each houseboat is unique. A water taxi serves the front porch.
