Japan

Connie writes:

When the Obon Fesitval is held in August people clean their houses and offer variety of food such as vegetables and fruits to their spirits of ancestors in front of a butsudan (Buddhost families altar). On the 13th chouchins are lit inside their houses , and people go to their family's to call their ancestors spirits back home.
