Sari shop

India

In this part of the world men shop for women's clothes more often that I would have thought. It may be that the women were cloistered, or perhaps inumerate, or perhaps far away in a village and the garment a gift to bring back from town. Men often worked far from their wives, so a nice sari would be a very welcomed gift. And since you are buying it, why not have your buddies help you?

Niranjan Subedi writes:

Three Punjabi guys are in this store to buy Saaris for their beloved ones. The shopkeeper is way in the back getting various different saaris. This is a typical saari shop in Amritshar, India.

India najones writes:

I disagree with Subedi; the people in the picture might not be "Punjabi guys." While the saris and the dress of the men certainly tells me that this is a place in northern India, it does not narrow it down to the state of Punjab.
