Kharbuzaa Ho Jaye !! ( Lets have some melon)

This juicy red fruit which is a saviour during hot summer days was originally from Africa. Its history dates back to Egypt where it was grown in abundance for its summer relief and beauty.

The fruit reached India in fourth century A.D and has lived there ever since as a part of our summer food culture.

Come summer in India and you would find at least a 100 vendors selling the same fruit in the same market. Genrally cut into smaller pieces and spiced up with salt and pepper to attarct the hot and hungry shoppers.

Genrally called Kharbuza or Tarbooza locally its one of the most healthiest foods for diet and water supplement.

Not only is the flesh eaten raw and used for many yummy recipes but also its seeds dried are very good source of protien.
