The ganges is supposed to be a holy river & it is believed that taking a dip in the river ganga washes all your sins, it is not a meager bath. People also carry with them some portion of ganga water. In hindu religion when a person is on his death bed you are supposed to pour some drops this water in his mouth so that he rests in peace.
