Along a canal in Li Jang

In central Asia birds are kept as working pets. Birds of prey are used to hunt, and smaller birds are used to fight. At the very least they have to earn their keep by singing. This one was getting an airing out along side a canal in the ancient caravan city of Li Jang.

This scene reminds me of my visit of Vietnam where they also hang bird cages on the trees. This is a very peaceful image and the birds sing all day long. For me this is part of the asian charms.
